My book review > Emilie Brontë: Wuthering Heights

Outstanding, a must read... but so emotionally disturbing. If I can understand Heathcliffs's frustrations, nothing can explain his determination to destroy innocent victims just because they were relatives to those who humiliated him (or loved him!) when he was a teen. He is the embodiment of the devil... patient, determined, heartless, cruel... and targets mercilessly young and innocent victims like his son, Hareton Earnshaw, or Catherine Linton (Catherin Earnshaw's daughter!?). Surprisingly, however, we can pity him... because this ruthless, infamous man suffers the pain of a lost love.
