My book review > Hemmingway: 'The Snows of Kilimanjaro'

Seems Hemmingway experienced so many things he could only write short stories, like little fragments of his life. It’s also the main idea behind the first of this series of short fictions, ‘The snows of Kilimanjaro’, which tells the story of this man who, as he is dying, realizes that ‘he would never write the things he had saved to write until he knew enough to write them well’. Both his avatars, Harry and Nick, share the same traits: somewhat selfish, blunt, macho… and surprisingly, it’s very touching to see their weaknesses behind their masculine strength. But it is intolerable that today, still, men behave so boorishly!
