My Book Review > "The Clutterbutt and Flumpkin Appreciation Society" by Colin Ridyard

“The Clutterbutt and Flumpkin Appreciation Society” is a story full of twists and turns which reads like a crime novel… with the addition of magic! Very well written, the author opens up the readers' senses to those magical things that secretly surround our lives and invites us to discover their beauty (and their dark side), when ethereal and intangible elements meet the concrete world.

Reading this book, I learned something of the utmost importance: we all should be careful when writing a story: dreams and nightmare can come true, and the characters we invent, whether they are fairies or witches, might well come to life one day.

However, there is no need to fear the realm of magic because, if it is true that there are different kind of magic, it is “in the truest love [that] you always find the strongest magic”! And “love is not measured in baubles and jewels but time; the time you give someone, the time you spend with them”.

And there is another interesting lesson: in spite of their intrinsic differences fairies, humans and elves can understand each other, live and cooperate together! It is not our ‘skin’ which is essential, but our hearts!

“The Clutterbutt and Flumpkin Appreciation Society” is a beautiful book that I really enjoyed reading and I strongly recommend it! A five Star without any doubt.
