My Book Review > "Troubled Sleep", by Jean-Paul Sartre
Honestly... It's a horrible story. Nothing really happens: defeated and humiliated soldiers are trapped, abandoned, waiting to become prisoners, overwhelmed with feelings like shame, boredom, doubt, sadness. They let loose... Defeat, such a defeat, is degrading...For these soldiers who, for most of them were just ordinary men trapped by war, and who are becoming prisonners of the Nazis, there is no hope, no light... but darkness.
In spite of all this, however, this book offers a great description of existentialist angst!
A must read!
